Street Name Reservations

Street names are required for all new public and private streets in Georgetown, Sadieville, Stamping Ground and Scott County. Street names may be reserved for a particular development for a maximum period of one (1) year. On the expiration date, the submitted names will be returned to the list of available street names for anyone to use.

Street names must be submitted for review with the final subdivision plat or final development plan for review and approval by the Planning Commission staff, specifically the Office Manager and GIS department. We recommend that you provide staff with a series of proposed street names prior to final plat or plan submittal in order to avoid any unnecessary delays and subsequent changes to the plats or plans. The Planning Commission staff has the authority to deny street names based on the existing list of street names, duplications, phonetics, and similar base or root names. A copy of the current Street Guide can be downloaded above to help avoid already existing names.

To reserve a street name download the Street Name Reservation Form below and submit it in person or via fax (502-867-3725) to the Georgetown-Scott County Planning Commission GIS Department.
